NICE implementation consultants visit all maternity units
NICE guidance is being used to help shape and monitor the services provided by maternity units. The challenge is to integrate it with other sources of guidance - and to meet all service standards. These are the main findings so far from visits to maternity units in England by our implementation consultants. (See end of article for details of NICE guidance relevant to maternity units)

Events
NICE holds its own annual conference each year, and exhibits at a number of events organised by other healthcare organisations, to ensure that those with an interest in the work of NICE have an understanding of the Institute's purpose, processes, products and contribution to healthcare.
Public meetings
Many NICE meetings are open to members of the public, including the NICE Board meetings, appeals against draft guidance and sessions of its standing advisory commitees. Anyone can register to attend NICE public meetings.
NICE newsletters and alerts
The latest copy of the NICE e-newsletter and Into practice, our newsletter for implementers, is mailed out automatically each month to all registered users on the site.
